The Jagathon Alumni Society supports Jagathon through engagement and fundraising among the IUPUI campus and spreads out across the country. They celebrate the patients, families, and staff who have walked through Riley Hospital for Children’s doors, they share their Jagathon stories, and invite our community to join us in supporting all they do. Not only do they support Jagathon but they also encourage and ment current members and connecting with fellow Jagathon alumni. Read along to learn more about The Jagathon Alumni Society!

I have far too many, but one of the more precious ones for me was being part of the backstage Director Reveal for Jagathon 2017, and then going out and seeing the total reveal with everyone. Jagathon 2017 was my first marathon as an alum, and it was awesome to see both new and familiar faces make an incredible leap with the program in just one short year. Somehow, I cried more at this reveal than the one in my senior year.

Any time that I spent with our Riley families was special to me. A memory that stands out is when I hosted the Riley Kid Talent Show during my year as the Director of Family Relations. The talent show is a unique and fun way we can celebrate some of the kids we support. I had a great view from the side of the stage- I was able to see everyone in the room smiling, dancing, and cheering FTK! It’s a memory that will always have a special place in my heart.

Jagathon truly gave me lifelong memories and friendships that shaped me into the person I am today. I absolutely loved meeting so many amazing Riley families and getting to know them throughout my four years of college. One memory that I will cherish forever is when the Riley Families secretly organized a time to meet together during the marathon with the executive board and personally thank us for our hard work throughout the year. It was such a sweet surprise the day of the marathon since there are always stressful moments while working to put on a 15-hour event smoothly, and they all reminded us why what we were doing was truly so important to their families.
